San Francisco Getaway
A much needed vacation...
I've just spent 2.5 weeks in San Francisco. It's been quite some time since my last visit and each time the city seems like a completely new place. Perhaps, with age comes new perspective. In no way am I through with this town but I wanted to share a few of my favorite stops and spots so far from the City by the Bay!
After the dreary winter weather of NYC, San Francisco's weather was a godsend. We're talking 68-72 degrees, clear blue skies, sunshine, slight ocean breezes, and great company. Life's better in HD.

San Francisco Treat(s)
Left: Blueberry bread pudding from Sausalito Bakery and Cafe. Top right: Two-scooper from Humphry Slocombe. One scoop of "Secret Breakfast," smooth, sweet cereal milk flavor with nuggets of cornflakes and bourbon, and a scoop of Vietnamese Blue Bottle Iced Coffee. Bottom right: Kouign-Aman pastry or, "a celebration of butter" according to the barista at Sightglass Coffee.
WHERE TO EAT
For those whose diet consists of more than sugar and pastries, here's a roundup of some other delectable spots to visit should you find your heart in San Francisco:
Cocotte - delicious rotesserie chicken. Leftovers also make for a great midnight snack.
Ike's Place -- amazing, gargantuan sandwiches. Be sure to order the sourdough bread for your sandwich!
Per Diem - for scrumptious pastas and a make-your-own Old Fashioned menu.
Ino Sushi (closed)- freshly prepared sushi at the sushi bar including faves like monkfish liver, uni, and toro.
FourBarrel Coffee - also offers an amazing berry kouign-aman pastry.
